Credit Card Sized Emergency Lock Pick Set

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

We usually refrain from posting inventions/gadgets unless you can make them yourself or they pose some sort of elegance (like the Party-A-Cargo for example). Well this one certainly combines brilliance and elegance together. The “Last Hope” emergency pickset is a credit card sized lock pickset that can fit in your wallet for all those times you slip up and lock yourself out of something. Each pick can be snapped off as needed and if that wasn’t already brilliant enough, the bordering frame itself breaks apart to become four separate tensioners resulting in an 11 piece lockpick set. No word on pricing or availability however it will be presented along with another double sided pickset next week at the Last Hope Conference in New York.

DIY Lock Picking Set

Friday, July 11th, 2008

}{itch @ instructables has put together a great instructable on fabricating your very own custom set of lock picks. Its a bit extravagant in the sense that he heats the metal and uses a hand file however }{itch states in the comments that he can do more intricate work this way which makes sense. But for those with a lack of patients, one should be able to achieve similar results with a trusty Dremel. Give it a look. Link to Instructable…
