This is a cool and informative video I picked up at Hackaday on how to trip a parking garage’s proximity sensor for getting in and out of the garage. Materials needed are one car and a soda can. Hackaday also mentions that a magnet from a hard drive may work just as well, if not better in some situations. Check out the video below.

Here is an awesome video I came across at Make Magazine’s blog the other day. The video shows a bolt of lightning touching down in super slow motion. Check out the flash and intensity of the bolt when it first finds ground. It is nothing shy of pure bad-ass.

Picked up this little gem earlier while browsing through Gizmodo. Below is an excellent video of the recent solar eclipse as seen from 27,000 feet in the air. This is some truly amazing footage.
The next video is another amazing look at the eclipse from ground level in Siberia.

For our second installment of our favorites we will turn to IMPS - The Relentless, which we spotted a few years ago from browsing through the Star Wars FanFilms site. So far, at the time of this post, they have still only released chapter 1 of their saga. They mix a fair amount of comedy with killer near professional quality special effects to create one of the, if not THE best fan film we have witnessed to-date.
Over the next few days we will be sharing with you some of our favorite sites that we have come across over the years. To kick it off we will start with Sequential Pictures (formerly Imitation Milk). This has got to be one of my most dearly favorite sources of sheer geek entertainment over the years. These guys give new meaning to geek and comedy from their early spoof of “Star Wars Episode II - The menace strikes back” to their more recent short films Like the musical spoof of “Your Shit is weak”. Odds are they have a video that will tickle the fancy of the geek in you. Link to Sequential Pictures Movies…
A while back we posted an article titled “Fight Big Brother with an Invisible Mask” which involved embedding some IR LEDs into a baseball cap to conceal your face to digital and video cameras. Well here is then next step in countering big brother’s tactics. Infrared Sun Glasses. This makes use of the very same concept as the cap but instead, this time it is with a pair of sunglasses. Check out the “Lunettes anti paparazzi” how-to video on making a pair of these bad boys. Link to video…

Ok, this has to be one of the coolest hack videos I have seen in some time. It seems like some sort of hack that controls the speed of the floppy drive motor to create different pitches hence playing a little tune from Star Wars. Unfortunately there is little information on this at the moment however if anything comes up, we will be sure to post. Classic!!!
